It's no secret that the team at Flax Sleep is into self care. It's also no secret that we believe a great sleep is the ultimate form of self care. Creating a home that is a sanctuary is also a pretty fine way to care for yourself.
In this second installment of #ourflaxrituals series, Kirstyn König (one of our top Vancouver style icons) lets us know a bit about how she practices self care, and gives us a peek into her sanctuary as well.

When do you usually wake up in the morning? Do you use an alarm clock?
Totally depends, but usually the sun wakes me up in the morning, as my loft is extremely bright. I do use an alarm (on my phone), but often end up waking up just before it goes off.
Tell us a little bit about your morning routine (and what, if anything, makes getting up easier). Do you have a specific product/ritual that helps you get up and face the day?
Exercise! I love getting up early and getting my workouts done at the beginning of the day. It energizes me and makes for super productive days!
Naps. Tell us about them. We love them, but can barely squeeze them in our busy schedules (and sincerely regret every nap we passed up as children). Do you ever nap?
Not as often as I’d like, but I do try to squeeze a short one in every once in awhile!
What time do you usually go to bed?
Really depends on my day. Working in the TV/Film industry has extremely long and irregular hours, but I function best the following day when I’m in bed before midnight.
Tell us a little bit about your evening routine. Do you have a specific product/ritual that gets you ready for a good night sleep?
I live for a good bath in my claw foot tub; complete with loads of bubbles, Epsom salts, face mask, a generous glass of wine and my laptop set up with my favourite Netflix show!
How much sleep do you usually get a night/how much importance do you place on sleep?
As I’ve gotten older I tend to sleep less then I did in my youth. I really do try to sleep-in sometimes, but my body just wakes me up and tells me it’s time to start my day! So I’d say I average around 6 hours per night.
Have you slept in linen bedding ? If yes, what did you think? If not, would you like to? Yes, I have and it’s been life changing! I honestly don’t know how I ever slept in anything else. It’s a must for anyone who’s craving a luxurious sleep.
